ASC 2009 happens in Mid 2009. Now is like March already? I havent heard any news about Asiavision yet. (-_-)

Im currently following up on Eurovision 2009 and stumbled upon the introduction video of Asiavision on a blog. It got me excited. Hence, I decided to create this video.

ASC should be a great event whereby you are exposed to other countries music cultures. You love music? ASC should be an event you wouldnt want to miss out. Please feel free to link your fan videos of your own countrys singers to mine. ^_^

From Europe to Asia! Eurovision Song Contest to Asiavision Song Contest (ASC)! (^o^)/
The ASC 2009 will be the first annual Asiavision Song Contest. It will be a grand event! 16 countries competing for the top spot! You might possibly expect to see famous popstars like BoA, Ayumi Hamasaki and even veteran singers like Jacky Cheung 张学友 being sent out to participate and perform. I wont be surprised if Japanese sent out visual kei jrock bands and South Korea sent out groovy K-pop singers. Its possible to hear fusion of modern music with traditional music instruments such as the sitar or even the zither (gu zheng) or pear-shaped lute (pipa). Heard of 12 girls band 女子十二乐坊? Furthermore you might experience more of other Oriental cultures such as the Balinese too. Exciting ya?

♥ [Little Introduction:- For the clueless =P] ♥

I assumed the voting rules of Asiavision follow Eurovisions; you are not allowed to vote your own country during the finals. You have to vote for other countries entries and other countries vote for yours.

- 12 points for your favourite entry
- 10 points to your 2nd favourite entry;
- 8 points down to 1 point to your 3rd to 10th favorites.

Generally, each country should have a pre-selection for the semi-finals. I doubt Asiavision would have semi-finals. I guess it should be the finals since the countries participating are not as many as Eurovisions. Im not that sure but maybe they would have 8 entries in the semi-finals.

Pre-selection is typically held locally on the television. Showcasing different songs with different singers or even nominated a singer to sing many different songs. The singers can be veterans or even those who came out of singing competitions. The audience has to vote for the song they liked (of course the singer too). Sometimes you get singer teaming up with famous dance group or even orchestra to collaborate a spectacular performance. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone? These songs have to be newly composed and original (no copying)! Any genre! Pop, Rock, Techno, Jazz, Opera or even fusion of genres! Any languages! English is still the focal if you want to reach out to the hearts of the audience. Very diversified! Once in awhile, you get comedians performing. I called that the crappy or lame entries. LOL.
