Gulf Savers, a nonprofit organization, is a coalition of partners dedicated to restoring the Gulf Coast Wetlands impacted by the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe. By drawing upon agricultural advances and non-contaminating solutions, Gulf Savers is committed to working with nature in its recovery response to the largest environmental disaster in North America.
It's about protecting the Gulf Coast from the billions of gallons of oil washing into the wetlands. With your generosity, we are able to place our Gulf Saver Bags on every foot of coastline.
For a mere $25, you can save one foot of coastline. Our Gulf Saver Bags are unique, effective and ready to deploy. Briefly, each bag is:
- A US Army Corps-endorsed, scientifically-tested biodegradable sand bag
- Filled with special humus made from natural oil-eating microbes and plant nutrients
- Seeded with oil-resistant marsh grass to replenish affected marsh
- Able to protect and restore one square foot of habitat
