About this user

Joe Matera is Melbourne, Australia based musician. As a guitarist, he is a 20 + year veteran of countless original and covers outfits. His impressive playing CV includes, being lead guitarist in Australian rock outfit Geisha from 2007 to 2010 and lead guitarist in the pit orchestra for award winning stage productions of Les Misérables and Chess.

As a seasoned live performer, he's shared the stage with some of Australia's top acts such as Dragon, Taxiride and others. He currently records and performs as a solo instrumentalist artist and also continues to perform shows around Melbourne, playing and performing with various artists.

His debut solo release was 'Travellin' West' in Sept. 2010, an evocative acoustic guitar driven instrumental. In 2011, he signed to European record label W.A.R Productions which saw his all electric instrumental EP CD 'Slave To The Fingers' released on Nov. 28, 2011.

He is also a well-known and respected music journalist whose many interviews and features have appeared in many music and guitar magazines across the world such as Guitar World (US), Guitar & Bass (UK), Acoustic (UK), Classic Rock (UK), Chitarre (Italy), Australian Guitar (AUS) and Guitarra Total (Spain).
