I've been trying to learn to play guitar, mandolin, and harmonica forever. I wish I knew more music theory and wish I knew more songs and wish I knew how to play lead guitar, and wish I could sing, but all in all, I've reach a plateau of enjoyment and appreciation with what I've learned so far. I've learned best by the show 'n tell method, and that's why you'll see me doing a lot of show 'n tell on YouTube. I have also learned some from books, learned some songs by osmosis, and learned some songs by ear (so they're never quite true to the original). Such is the nature of folk music. I play Celtic and Americana music in a duo called Celtic Cat and Prairie Dog. I am currently awaiting the arrival of a new hand-crafted octave mandola from Scotland. Then I will have all of the instruments I'll ever need (yeah, right . . .).
