Always the left leg down...right foot covers the break.. both hands on the handlebars... this is the saftey position.. simple reason if we lose balance as our left leg goes down.. we fall towards the pavement.. not into the lane of traffic.. if you want to sit with the clutch in..still left leg d...

the Pan is NOT a sports tourer...nor is the bmw R1200 rt ..there touring bikes.. not sports tourers.. hope this helps :)
