About this user
Guinayangan is a small coastal town in northern tip of a gulf situated in the southern part of Luzon Island, Philippines. Its population grew rapidly in the latter part of 20th century, but ironically this was also the time its land area shrunk by two third of its original size. Eaten by its former baranggay which turned into an independent fully grown town. People here are self-sufficient (maybe because of their isolation from the main national highway which helps other town grow their economy faster),they learn to live on their own way of life but have a little propensity to foreigners. Life is cozy and very relax. No rush hour in the morning or in the afternoon, its just like an archetypal Filipino town. Anything but industrialization, development also gets their way here. Cell phones, computers and all of inventions of 21st centuries are already crawling in on those who have or have the appetite of these modern gadgets for modern way of living. Even in farming communities up in the mountains have already embrace this new way of life. Farming and fishing are basic sources of income, retailing and government employment maybe tie in third. Neither factories nor industrial manufacturing find a way here. Maybe because of its non strategic point in the eye of business people, only some of small food processing and backyard business exist here. As luck must have it, even its small population, Guinayangan has two of the largest privately owned modern transportation provider in Southern Quezon. Possibly this is the fourth largest employer of this town. This time its location as one of the farthest town from the nation's capital helps this bus liners grew into a major transportation provider in this area. Helping this town financially from the tax and for its employees to have an income that can sustain and be at par with the minimum wage in a city.Age
