oops, shit happens eh? this series is very keen to squeeze all the boats into a small area, and they are very fast! so i think this sort of thing is fairly inevitable. makes for good viewing though eh?

@SydneyTrafic , I think it's called l'hydroplaner, Parlier's attempt at something different for the orma 60 rule, lightning fast at times but sadly not often enough.

Deck mounted booms are quite common on open 60s, especially the wing masted ones, as this takes the compression loads from the boom away from the mast, but as you have seen this leaves no room for a conventional kicker. @defleppard10294 , was done to save weight, when vincent had it he fitted a trim tab to it to improve the efficiency. This boat did win the vendee twice, but single canards are now regarded as not as fast on the more powerfull modern open 60
