@DeadHandRed Midway currently has the .45 gas checks for about $40 per 1000. That makes them $0.04 each -- just slightly less than what I can cast the 405gr bullets for my .45-70. For something this simple to make with automated machinery, this is ridiculously expensive.

@superdart75 OK, I see what you are talking about now... I had never really considered that an issue on my Mini-14... Probably because it is a ranch model and just gets used for pests and as such, fast mag changes don't become an issue. How does your design work?

So, you don't stand your bullets up on their base after lubing them with the alox? I've always done it that way and bitched about the time it takes to stand up a large batch while knocking them down ever few minutes due to fumble fingers...

One additional advantage that I see is that it would allow a greater choice of bikes for riders with shorter legs. Women might really like this option...

Interesting idea... Would take a bit of relearning to not automatically just use the rear brake when doing slow speed operations and you would still need to be careful that you didn't lean the wrong way, but it's an interesting concept...

By turning the drill bit with a stationary bullet, you are subject to having an off-center hole. If you turn the bullet while having a stationary drill bit, you would not have an off-center hole, only one that was larger.

Maybe you could put one of the polyurethane truck bed liners sprayed on it to seal it up after you lock your firearms in the container -- like the Rhino liner.
