The best decision I ever made happened at the age of nine. On hot summer afternoons, I frequently sat on the stoop outside the modest shack my family occupied on a dirt road in Mckeesport PA. One day, a neighbor lady crossed the road to approach me and made an offer I couldn't refuse. She said, "Grover, if you take my son, Jimmy, downtown to Cecille Senko's Dance Studio every Saturday for a tap class, I'll pay for you to take the class with him..."

I knew nothing about tap dancing. A free anything would've sounded good. Without a word, I nodded my acceptance. Two months later, Jimmy dropped out of the class but I had discovered something I was good at. I stuck with it, paying for the class by selling magazines in the neighborhood.

What a long time ago that was. Little did I know...that lady (whose name I can't remember!) launched me on a path that would last a lifetime. Ah. Staying open for life's little miracles is a good thing...."
