grouchocatman! Thanks for your ever-so touching comments. Eventually, all the Rhapsodies will be posted. And now, let a "grouch"-y oldlady give you some advice. Start now trying to weed through all your, for certain, too-much STUFF. Give away things you will never use again. It's horrid to have tons of junk to go through when you reach 200! A little at a time and the burden will not seem so large, later. And, you may find some lovely surprises you had forgotten about - along the way...

Your Grandmeow has fantastic rhythm! Of course - to that music, who wouldn't!

You asked, 30 or so minutes ago who played the Chopin Barcarolle. Somehow, it became "Public" before I was finished the title and description. Now it is posted correctly. Imagine how surprised I was to see you had listened to it before it was really ready!!

Balint Vazsonyi?! As a child I listened over and over to an lp of him playing Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies. I am sure that lp is currently somewhere in my garage waiting one day to be taken out and heard again. That name brings back pleasant memories. Thanks for your kind reply and I will definitely check out your postings.

Thanks for your email, grouchocatman. So you went to Interlochen! So did I. My father, Dorsey Whittington, headed to Piano Dept. for some 20 years. He replaced Percy Grainger. Amazing, isn't it. So far back in time. I see you are 45 - so you were probably there well afterwards.
One secret to good pedaling is to have a thorough understading of harmony.
I would like to introduce you to my late husband's (Balint Vazsonyi) YouTube postings. An rbprior put up many longer works; I have tried my luck at shorter ones. If you simply go to the YouTube search engine and type in Balint Vazsonyi, a pretty fair list will come up. Speaking of the art of pedaling, listen to Balint's Brahms "Variations on an Original Theme". But it's there in everything he played.

Best, Barbara V.
