hello & welcome to my channel it is about the history real rail roading & 3 rail O gauge electric model trains & me as a collector of O gauge train sets just like many other growen men & women today that are involved in as there hobby for there & there familys injoyment in O gauge model trains and the lionel trains company is one of the names that aways comes to mind eith train started it all with haveing an electric train set under the crish started in the PREWAR era from the year 1900 to 1942. and then there was the POSTWAR era 1945 to 1969 and then there was the MPC era 1970 to 1986 the MPC era was mostly made in the U.S.A but for the first time in 80+ years for a short time period in the 1980s lionel had the assembly line moved to make everything in a plant that was in mexico which i myself think they did a pretty nice job over there but alot of collectors didnt like it and did not want there trains being made outside out the U.S.A so sometime later lionel moved back to the U.S.A before the MPC era had ended and then the MODERN era 1987 to todays made lionel trains in the MODERN era lionel was all made in the U.S.A from 1987 to 1995 and then lionel made in the U.S.A and in china from 1996 to 2001 and then the in 2000 last U.S.A lionel plant was closed up in 2001 and now all of the lionel assembly lines as of mid to late 2001 where split up between two countrys to make everything for lionel one lionel was the plant in china and the other lionel plant is in korea lionel is still to this day owned in the U.S.A and they did all of this so they can get everything made alot cheaper for them but yet we still pay top doller for them?!? but i do like & want other 3 rail O gauge sets theres marx american flyer ives, hoge mth williams all of them have made or make 3 rail O gauge trainsl but here at this time what i do have and you will see in my & my kids collection of lionel train sets there are sets lionel made from as early as the 1930s and you will see lionel train sets made as new as the year 2010 all the prewar & postwar era train sets is my collection i do have one late modern era lionel train set its a santa fe el capitan A-B-A FT diesel with 4 streamline passenger cars made in 2009 all of the other modern era lionel sets from 2007 to 2010 all belong to my two kids now some of my old sets you will see here are somewhat rare & hard to find sets today and some of them you will see are still old sets but are a common to see around sets to this day now for makeing smoke i sometimes like useing 3in1 oil in my steam engines i like the smell of it but i mostly only use JT,s mega steam smoke fluid in my engines my favorte is the smoke pellet sented smoke fluid which smells just as good or better then the postwar smoke pellets but they have many other sents to pick from JT,s even has a non sented smoke fluid and it performs just as well but not only will JT,s mega steam smoke fluid smell just as what it says on the bottle you get you will get a much thicker vision of smoke comeing out of your steam or diesel engines over the years iv tried many diffrent brands of smoke fulids but JT,s has came out on top in both sent of smell and smoke output comeing out our engines now for serviceing i mostly use liquid bearings for a very good reasons its a 100% synthetic oil for model trains i use it on my engines freight & passenger cars i think it lastes longer then other oils iv tried out i found it to work wounders on old engines that have not been run in many years for one my 1946 #2020 6-8-6 S2 steam turbine set the drive wheels where frozen and the front and rear trucks where hard to turn but the main 8 drive wheels could not be moved by hand the guy that sold it to me told me said his father & uncle took the layouy down and put it all away in 1965 so that set was in the set box for over 40 years without being use or oiled so i first tried to use some 3in1 oil & tried wd-40 i let it sit for a while but it didnt do much so i then use the liquid bearings oil & let it soak for about an hour that oil freed up all of the wheels and then i cleaned & serviced the engine and it runs great like a new postwar engine i dont think any other oil would have worked better then the liquid bearings oil did i highly recommend it you can get both of these items the JTs smoke fulid & the oil for about $6 each on ebay all of our train sets are made useing a fuji finepix E550 digital camera it works pretty good for a not being a HD digital camera the are all powered off a lionel CW-80 transformer that is 80watts 5 amps max within 2ch so only 40 watts of power is going to the tracks which is now alot but its enough to run them & they run not bad off of only 40watts even my twin pullmor motored engines run fairly well with it & its on a 4x5 sheet of 1/4" plywood & a loop 40"x60" i believe be to 0-31 curves fastrack so if you like what you see so far please.feel free to rate commet & !!!SUBCRIBE!!! checkout my other subbers trains collection

Interests:
i realy injoy the hobby of being involved as a collector in model railroading.and i realy injoy hearing and learning from other collectors about the history of both the real railroads and model trains sets that where made from diffrent eras when i was growing up i had a pretty nice collection of HO gauge trains mostly made by tyco but i did have one HO gauge lionel gs-4 freedom train set from the late 1970s that was nice but my favorite HO set i had was made tyco it was a uncataloged warbonnet santa fe A-B-B-A FT or F-7 diesels and pulled 6 long chrome like warbonnet santa fe streamline passenger cars but when we moved in the late 80s all my HO trains plus other collectables & items that my mother & father had got stolen i still to this day i can not find any info of that one uncataloged tyco diesel streamliner passenger set but later that year i for the very first time saw a layout full of all standard gauge and o gauge trains from the prewar postwar & mpc era iv seen o gauge trains under other peoples christmas trees but never a layout untill up at this point but the layout all belong to my mothers new friends husband we just had met not long before he had a huge collection he had one room just for storeing everything & another room for the layout he had a lionel #1668E 2-6-2 PRR K4 turpedo freight set running from the prewar & the one set he had that i saw just sitting there on the layout that got my eye was one of what i later had learned was lionels outfit #2545ws train set with a scale n&w #746 j class 4-8-4 steamer & ss tender with space and militray rail cars & a #175 rocket space center that set was in the 1959 lionel catalog in the postwar era i wanted one of those sets ever since but it wasnt untill years later that i could even afford or even find a postwar as a complete set and i was very luckly one in the nice shape that its in only the wireing harness for the #175 rocket space center needed to be replaced but iv been collecting o gauge model train sets for a number of years now but today i not only buy sets that are in good running and looking shape i also buy sets that are in need of some kind of minor repair to sets in need of being almost fully restored i injoy doing my own repairs and restoreing of model trains i always keep up on serviceing and repairs on prewar & postwar & mpc era engines and sets iv done some minor serviceing or work on some modern engines in the past but with the late modern engines theres realy very little that you can do to service them other then a drop or of oil here and there on the drive wheels & rods on the steam engines now on the diesels its even less just drop or two of oil behind the drive wheels and i believe thats about it they come with momentum flywheel motors steam & diesel those motors can take some oil & will inprove perfomance and my two kids have a few of todays late modern era lionel train sets with a range in a few diffrent size momentum flywheel motors my son always likes to watch & helps me when im serviceing or repairing engine so i let him join the fun plus its good for him in and it makes him feel like hes doing some big work and hes happy and thats what realy matters to me you know theres something special about trains and people that collect real trains or the ones that collect model trains of any gauge iv never known or met anyone that was a railfans & or collector of model trains that i ever thought was nasty or black harted people who love the thrill and understand what rail roading is about from what iv seen are some of the nicest pepole you would ever want to meet it dosent matter how old you are or how young you are if there liked by boys & girls or growen men & growen women there for everyone these trains seem to bring out the best of us or at lease young at hart to me i think its better for the grown men & women that collect them because we can go & get them anytime as kids we had to wait for someone eles to give them to us but the prewar & postwar era was a very special time to live in the best if you ask me because i feel that those times were very diffrent in many ways from what the USA was back then & they had there neg- in those times too but for the most part there was alot more peace & pride in what people did back then & for sure without a doubt more respect from the way pepole acted one another to the way things where made & to me when it comes to trains it was not only the best times for the real railroads it was the best times in model railroading as well lionel marx american flyer ives hoge & im sure others where one of many things of those eras that earned it by rail fans to model train collectors back then & collectors today i think injoy them more now then they before when they where brand new only things where still of those times!!!!!
Movies:
my favorte shows at this time is a show called supernatural on the CW t.v network about two brothers fighting ghost demons monsters along with other odd living things and the war between good and evil between heven and hell and these two are right in the middle of all of it there 7th season starts 9/23/2011 friday at 9pm EST and i also like watching a tv series called ghost adventures these guys are awesome to watch and i believe they are real at what they do unlike the show ghost hunters with iv watched for years and they became boring and i stop watching them when they busted in there fake acts more then once already also into older and some newer horror films scifi comdey and i like alot of the seaonal hoildays shows and movies mostly holloween thanksgiving and christmas and i like viewing T.M videos on standerd gauge trains O gauge trains . oo gauge trains, Ho gauge trains are all about model rail roading based of the history of the train outfits like lionel ives hoge marx american flyer they talk about many diffrent train sets that are very rare to common to find today and what years they were made what ones pepole liked mostly i liked hearing the storys from other collectors of what it was like growing up in the prewar & potwar era wakeing up with model train set under the christmas tree on christmas morning and also theres some nice layout ideas in there videos
