Grisbi is a french electro pop band fronted by Natasha Penot (singer-songwriter and keyboard player) and Antoine Chaperon (songwriter, guitars and machines), along with Nicolas Legué (drums) and David Simon (bass).

Natasha and Antoine started their musical collaboration by making covers, including "Army of Me" noticed and published by Björk herself into a international compilation ("Army Of Me, Remixes & Covers", One Little Indian, LP, 2005).

Then, they recorded their first album called "Play Time" (ELAP Music, 2007) in a Loire Valley studio (Fabien Tessier). Grisbi mixed up their influences (from Serge Gainsbourg to Kraftwerk) with its pop sensibility, and wrote a maximalist, wandering electro-pop record, haunted by a dazzling spleen. Conceived as a teenagers messed-up bedroom sound decor, in which Young Marble Giants meet Boards Of Canada and XTC, Play Time's 12 songs are the result of experimentations in the studio with instrumentation full of details and a meticulous production.

Well received by the French press and the public, the scene revealed the strength of the songs with more tension and a solid rhythmic section. In 2008, Grisbi has been on stage with Patrick Watson, Micky Green, Tahiti80, Hushpuppies, Aaron among others.

The band now comes back in studio to record an EP, announcing the second album which is to be released in 2010. The process is totally different from the first studio sessions, as the band choose live recording to capture stage energy.

Grisbi est un groupe électro-pop tourangeau fondé par Natasha Penot (chanteuse, auteur-compositeur, clavier) et Antoine Chaperon (auteur-compositeur, guitares, machines) avec Nicolas Legué (batterie) et David Simon (basse).

Grisbi remporte en 2005 le concours Barclay/Inrockuptibles de remixes de Rachid Taha, mais cest avec sa reprise d' "Army of Me", remarquée et publiée par Björk sur lun de ses disques, que le groupe est propulsé hors de son laboratoire musical.

Ils entrent en studio et enregistrent "PlayTime" (ELAP Music, 2007), un premier album maximaliste et vagabond, conçu comme lhabillage sonore dune chambre dadolescente bordélique. Denvolées électroniques en riffs énervés, on y croise du Young Marble Giants, du Boards of Canada ou encore du XTC. De Télérama à J&J, la presse réserve un excellent accueil au disque.

Depuis leur premier live enregistré sur OUÏ FM, les quatre de Grisbi ont assuré entre autres les premières parties de Patrick Watson, Hushpuppies, Micky Green, Aaron ou Tahiti80. Ils se sont produits notamment dans les festivals Terres du Son, Tous sur le Pont, les Rockomotives et sur la scène région Centre du Printemps de Bourges, en tant que lauréat Propulson 2008.

Après un EP de 5 titres enregistrés live, "Lillie's Bordello", sorti en août 2009, le groupe, travaille actuellement à la réalisation d'un deuxième album dont la sortie est prévue pour 2010. Ce deuxième opus sannonce comme une collection de pop-songs contrastées dans les ambiances et les tempos, naviguant entre new-wave, folk, post-rock et electro.
