The Grinkatz (kates talens)

The Grinkatz, also known as Grinkatz Band, is a group in Santiago City, known for their versatility in music. The band is one of the youngest yet professional band in Santiago City.

HISTORY:

The band was formed in the year 2005. The name was coined from "green" and "cats" being the favorite color and pet of Western respectively. Western decided to join a band competition with his classmate Rogene during their high school days in Northeastern College. The two gathered former members and classmates Hazel, Churchill, and Maurice to complete the band. They did gigs and participated in multiple events but was only able to gain small popularity due to being amateurs. Hazel left the group due to religion issues then followed by Churchill and Maurice.
Kates and a friend, Anne, were having acoustic gigs in a bar when Western asked them to join the group the three members abandoned. Kevin, who was still learning to play the guitar, was pulled in by Western who was also his mentor.
The band gained popularity in the mid-2006 by joining and winning various competitions in the city and nearby places under the management of their high school teacher Lot Guingab. It was when Kevin left the group due to an issue, where he was temporarily replaced by Myke. Western did the bass that time.
The quartet continued to play in different sessions and contests. They played for Hot FM 92.5, a radio station in their place, in the campaign, and amusement park. They also did some front acts for popular bands that held concerts in the city. In the year 2007, Kevin came back with a new member, Nickson. This was when they started filming videos of their compositions and was discovered by Joe Cunningham, a musician and videographer based in Guam, who shot videos of the band's compositions.
In the year 2008, the band was out of sight in the public. Demands for show bands and band competitions were very lean. School and family issues rose.
The next year, the band reunited but without Nickson, Ron took his place. They joined and won a contest in Ilagan, Isabela, with Jayson as the male vocalist.

PRESENT:

2010 when the band reformatted. The long-running vocalist of The Grinkatz, Anne, left the group and was replaced by Isabel and Danica. Also Ron left marking the come-back of Nickson. Under the management of Natalie Tuozzoli, they do gigs and occasionally play in different events.
They are entitled to do their first recording under Juliet Jimenez' production. They will record their compositions with the voices of Danica and Isabel. Their album will be named "So Claws yet So Fur".
