Skating for fun, reviewing skate gear, being a geek, and sharing what little I think I know. This is for the love of skating.
About Me:
My name is Neal, but I've been "grimcity" on the internet since 1998.
During the day, I'm a computer geek, multimedia developer, AV/communications support, network admin, and digital designer for everything from small press to billboards. From comics to astronomy, I bleed the blood of a geek. Good times.
I started skateboarding in 1985, never stepping off except for injury or illness. I feel really lucky to have started when I did, and still try to progress as skateboarding evolves. Sometimes my progression is weird, which is great because skating's pretty weird when you think about it.
I do product reviews on stuff that people send me, so if you send me something, I'll probably review it, but beware that the camera doesn't lie (although editing could if you removed any ethics you might have). The rest of my videos are either compilations from our local shop (Small Time Skates, Hammond Louisiana), me talking waaaay too much about things that really don't need to have so many words thrown at them, and little video compilations I like to put together when I'm either skating with friends or having introverted little solo missions.
When I started this channel, it was just to dump videos that I would link to in forums and websites, but since then I've gotten hooked on the friendships, homies, homettes, and partners in crime that I've made here. The goal I have is to help spread the love for skating, and hopefully share information that other skaters might find useful, as well as get educated about stuff from a lot of the people in comments. Lots of smart people out there!
I will say this: Even though I'm generally a fan of the same skate media that most other skaters are fans of, I'm a bit preturbed that skating is only seen as a sport or as part of some sort of "Jackass" type mentality. Again, while I appreciate all of that stuff, I wish skating were presented with a little more intelligence, research, and an appreciation for the roots of skating. Every once in a while I try to do that, hopefully my vids don't make you dumber. If they do I take full responsibility.
There is specific bias on this channel, and that is for the company Deluxe (Real, Anti Hero, Krooked, Spitfire, Thunder, Venture). I'm a Deluxe "Known Associate," friend of the company, and I do off-camera testing for stuff they tinker with. Super fun and I love my friends there.

I just flew out of Louisiana yesterday and I'm back home.. in Massachusetts. Just moved up here a few months ago but I'll be flying in to Louisiana every once in a while for visits. By all means though, if you're ever up this way you've got a place to stay. I've even got a flight voucher with Delta to offset the flight cost haha.
