About Me:

Music is definitely a passion of mine, which I think is fairly typical of human beings.

But my first passion has to be for God and the Bible---neither of which I claim to have perfectly followed. (But I do not have a waking hour when my thoughts do not return to God at some level.)
Country:
United States
Occupation:
A poor working stiff. Wait a minute, I live in Michigan, make that LUCKY working stiff. Specifically, I'm a lowly pipefitter (actually, I love my job!)
Interests:
Reading, Writing, Listening. Grandbabies!!
Music:
Most of the classical repertoire, beginning with the music of the Renaissance. The Classical period is my least favored, while Post-Romantic is my most favored era. On the popular side, Brian Wilson, with or without The Beach Boys and anyone else who manifests similar musical characteristics (from the Beatles to Paul Simon to Queen to Tears for Fears, Rufus Wainwrightetc etc).
Books:
The Bible, Authorized Version. Modern Tmes--Paul Johnson. Anti-evolution books by Philip Johnson (e.g., Darwin on Trial). Power, Faith, and Fantasy--Michael Oren. Conquests and Cultures--Thomas Sowell. Righteous Victims--Benny Morris. Evolution, A Theory in Crisis--Michael Denton. etc. etc.

Just dropping by to say Happy New Year! Yes , healthy skepticism is normal I certainly had that before I received Jesus Christ as my savior. I had skepticism with the religions and English modern versions of the Bible; our government and our education system. Because of all this no one even knows what Biblical Christianity is anymore. It is indeed sad.

Hey Doug - wow, thank you SO much for the kind words and for subscribing. It truly means the world to me to know that there are people like you out there who appreciate what I'm doing. "God Only Knows" is, in my opinion, the greatest song ever written. I'm glad to know you think I did it justice :) All the best!

Actually, I try to reserve a good bit of healthy skepticism in myself. I am skeptical of religion, philosophically biased science-claims, the federal education system, government sponsored social programs, and human nature in general. Don't take that to mean I am in any way cynical, I'm not. But I am, I think, an honest skeptic. Dishonest skeptics I have no time for. And there is a world of difference. An honest skeptic, theoretically, would be at least open to the idea of reconciliation to God (the gospel, i.e.). Dead-ends, blind-alleys, foundations in thin air---not for me.

Anyway, thanks for commenting here. As I said on your page, you are a very bright young man. I hope we will find occation to keep in touch.

Hey, sorry for any aggressiveness on my part. Though i must disagree with you again on skepticism, I think it's a good thing to default to when you're young rather than choosing to believe something. I begin from a Cartesian point of total ignorance, taking everything off the table of knowledge and then only adding back on things I can prove (or others can) beyond reasonable doubt to be true.

This way I avoid ending up with an arbitrary religion which may not actually be true.

You argue very well but we do disagree fundamentally, which is unfortunate.

I find that most God-haters are (at least) borderline misanthropes. God-haters tend to be man-haters. Ever notice that?
