About this user
This profile has two simple purposes: first - to reconnect with old friends from New Mexico Military Institute, and second - to communicate with Alumni and current cadets from NMMI, their parents, patrons and friends, and anyone else with an interest in NMMI or the continued opportunity for a superior high school and junior college education within a rigorous, MILITARY environment to continue to exist. (Please take a look at my Blog entries to better understand why I phrased that last sentence the way I did.) ------------------ I am an alumnus of NMMI, having graduated from high school there in 1969 and from Junior College in 1971. While a cadet there, I was in ROTC and graduated as a Distinguished Military Student (DMS) and with the annual award from the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the US, as well as having been on Commandant's List (no demerits/tours for that semester) and Dean's List for most of my career there. ----------------- In Fall of 1974 I returned to work on the staff as a TAC (Training and Control officer) for COL George B. Robbins (one of the very best people I have ever, EVER known!) and worked there until Commencement of 1978. I was the staff director of the Cadet Talent Show, cordinator for the Final Ball, Ski Club Sponsor, developed the discotheque in VMV and taught DJing, and also briefly taught a course in Broadcaster Licensing for aspiring radio personalities. ------------------------ The time I spent at NMMI, both as a cadet and as a TAC, were the best days of my life.Who I'd like to meet:
Any and all NMMI alumni, parents, patrons, current and former staff and current cadets WHO HAVE A POSITIVE INTEREST IN NMMI and in maintaining it as a superior military/educational institution. Traditions, values, high standards, history, pride...those things are important, folks! They shouldn't be open to indiscriminate meddling and erosion by passing interlopers. Let's talk soon!!
