About Me:

Greenman Studio LLC is a graphic design and animation studio located in Midland, MI. Owner Peter Sinclair is a longtime advocate of environmental awareness and energy alternatives. An award winning graphic artist, illustrator, and animator, Mr. Sinclair runs Greenman Studio from his home in Midland, MI.
Mr. Sinclairs cartoons and illustrations have appeared in newspapers around the world, and his work has been profiled in numerous publications, including the New York Times, The Utne Reader, and HaAretz of Jerusalem.

30 years of writing and activism in the areas of energy and environment, including extended study in Nashville with Al Gore and the worlds leading climate experts, in addition to skillful
creation of audio visual presentations, have made Mr. Sinclairs
presentation on Climate change and alternative energy one which has been called a must see!

Constantly updated information, made vivid with striking, clear graphics and animations, many derived from NASA, The National Snow and Ice Data Center, and top international sources, an expert knowledge of the issues of energy and environment, and an informal, good humored delivery, make difficult concepts easy to see and grasp.

No issue will have a greater impact on the new century than the decisions we make on energy and the impact of global climate change, and Peter Sinclairs presentation makes the critical points
dramatically clear and immediate.

Many thanks greenman, great vids I send to any numpty deniers I encounter, good science with raw data easily understood, top stuff geezer.
RustyTBone69 (2 days ago)
thanks. climate deniers keep making the claim "scientists who deny global warming are being viciously excluded from presenting their conclusions because the peer reviewers are keeping them out" It sounds like crap to me, but we must debunk this by educating people on peer review and why certain unscientific claims are not allowed in.
greenman3610 (2 days ago)
I try to use peer reviewed studies or primary resources as much as possible, and many people appreciate that.
In the future, I may be doing a video to show people how to recognize when they are being played - and how to recognize the real deal.

a lot of climate deniers are talking about peer review. can you do something on that?

@FunkyFlorist - There were also no land plants during the Cambrian, it was a vastly different world.

Again, watch Alley's talk. The man is a world class expert in the area, and he explains the best available science. Then you can avoid embarrassing yourself.

Yea, just a couple problems; During the Cambrian Era the CO2 content was 1800% higher than today. But the temperature remained steady through-out that time. If the climate were as sensitive to CO2 as you believe it to be, then it would have burned up the planet... Now I looked at some charts, most notable the Paleomap Project, and its clear (geologically speaking) that CO2 has no discernible effect on the climate...

Many people do indeed disagree with IPCC, but mostly because they think IPCC is too conservative, and events like the rapid collapse of northern polar ice tend to support that position.
The greenhouse gases, are less than one percent of the atmosphere. Water vapor varies from place to place, but is never more than a few percent. So this tiny percentage of the total warms the earth, as you say, by 33 C.
So, yes, increasing that small but powerful increment has dramatic effects.
I encourage any and all to view Richard Alley's talk from last week's American Geophysical Union meeting.
You'll see a summary of 4 billion years of earth history and CO2s role in it. Note the talk is before 2000 cheering earth scientists, the world's leading experts in atmospheric and Geophysical science.

Sorry but the IPCC 2007 report recently places the potential temperature change to less than 3.26 degrees C. Even that is admittedly wrong, they are going lower. As for the potential 6 degrees, that would mean your source disagrees with the IPCC, showing that there is no consensus on how much the earth will warm for a DOUBLING of co2.

The ENTIRE atmosphere contributes 33 degrees F to global temperature, you are saying that if we change 1/2000 of that atmosphere, it will have the same effect as 1/6 of the whole atmosphere...
greenman3610 (5 days ago)
there are a number of detailed discussions of this. The answer is, on a decadal scale, about 3 degrees C. That includes only "fast feedbacks" like water vapor and sea ice.
The longer term picture, which includes inputs from changes in land based ice sheets and other "slow feedbacks', may be closer to 6 degrees.
