About Green Bin Ottawa
The Green Bin program is the newest addition to Ottawa's recycling efforts. This composting program will provide an easy way for Ottawa residents to help the City redirect organic waste away from the trash.
Today, organic waste like food scraps or yard clippings make up about 45 per cent of all Ottawa's residential garbage. By using the green bin, we feed the land and not the landfill.
Green bins will be delivered to the majority of Ottawa residents starting in September. Collection will begin January 2010. Check your Collection Calendar for exact dates.
