when i was in third grade i decided to join the school orchestra and i have been playing the violin ever since then! im really not that good at it, and considering i have been playing it for almost 10 years, that may sound kinda odd. the violin and the music i played in orchestra was really just another way to immerse myself in music and spend time in my own little musical world instead of my real one.
when i was in fourth grade i also decided to join the school band. that leaded me to play the flute for 5 school years and when it came down to choosing violin or flute in high school, well you all know what i chose ;)
i sang in the school choir 6th and 7th grade because i loved to sing but i stopped being in choir because i wasn't interested in the gospely music they tended to sing...
i sang a spanish song in my 8th grade talent show and i think it was my first time actually being on stage and performing for a large crowd. it was such a rush; i loved every minute of it!
in high school i continued to play the violin with the orchestra and we competed nationally twice in my four years.
my senior year of high school the orchestra went to compete at Disney World and we ranked in second place in our division. While we were their i had the chance to audition and participate in the American Idol Experience at Hollywood Studios! i passed the 2 audition rounds, went through hair/makeup and got help from a vocal/performance coach and performed for a crowd in the replica of an American Idol stage while competing with two other people. i sang No One by Alicia Keys. all of the judges loved me and gave me great comments although "simon" said he though i was a bit full of myself (hardly) but i came in a close second. the experience was amazing and people recognized me all over the park for the rest of the night; everyone was so nice! :)
i have been to a studio 3 times in my life. the first was where i recorded my cover of Sober. the second was where i met with a new producer and sang him a few songs, and the third was with the same producer as i finally got to sing an original song :)
so here i am now just wanting to continue this path in music and see where it takes me. i love music and i want people to relate to my words and my emotion the way that i do when i listen to other artists. i have always been passionate about music. i look up to anybody with a great soulful voice [i.e Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera].
