Legend is that people who have seen the lights up close have been so amazed that they even follow them off a cliff to their death. Having seen the lights and their astounding beauty i would not be surprised.

The lights in the background are from Morganton. Great post! No doubt authentic. I love the talk about what an airplane should look like. I thought a helicopter with a spot light was coming at me around Brown Mountain a couple of years ago... until I realized it was just a ball of plasma.
