Currently, I spend much more time with still photography than video. Please check out my Flickr site linked above. I have always had much interest in video, and I used to work with a Sony DCR-TRV 740 during the first half of the "oughts". My current video-recording gear is a Canon Rebel T1i. Though this provides high-def progressive-scan video, a DSLR is a bit clunky for video production. Three cases in point: 1) I am pretty much stuck with manual focus, 2) The image stream is only viewable on the external LCD screen, with the viewfinder useless and 3) There is no external microphone capability (this has been addressed with the T2i and some other Canons), and the one built into the camera body picks up on camera noises, like the slight whirring from the image stabilization of certain Canon lenses. Because of this, I only do limited videography right now.

Aside from my interest in photography and videography, I am a graduate student with the Faculty of Foresty at the University of British Columbia.
