Larry and Pam Grant have been married for forty years. They both grew up in Fruitland and attended Fruitland public schools. Larry is a graduate of Columbia College, Columbia University, in New York and the University of Denver Law School. Pam is a graduate of Boise State.
Larry practiced law, first in Denver and then in Boise, before becoming Vice President and General Counsel of Micron Technology, Inc., in 1985. During his ten years with Micron, the company grew from 800 employees to over 4000 employees. Today Micron is Idaho's largest private employer.
While at Micron, Larry initiated the first ever semiconductor antidumping case with the International Trade Commission. As a result, President Reagan imposed duties on Japanese semiconductor manufacturers who were selling their product in the United States below cost. The case is credited by some analysts as having been a significant factor in the survival and growth of Micron in its early years.
Larry and Pam have one son, Ron, and two grandsons, Garrison and Scott, who live in the Seattle area.
