About this user
Just three years after Anthony started playing the piano and reading music, he entered his first piano competition, and placed 2nd at Florida's 2009-2010 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Junior Performance STATE PIANO COMPETITION in Oct. 2009, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 12. Four months later he won 3rd Prize in the Pompano Beach Piano Competition. He currently studies with renowned American pianist, Phillip Evans, who is a former faculty member of both the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools of Music and currently a faculty member at Lynn University's Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton. Anthony also studied at Lynn's Preparatory School of Music under Roberta Rust. He began his studies there with Spanish pianist José Menor.
In March 2011 he was selected and performed as the final performer for the CHOPIN FOUNDATION OF THE UNITED STATES' Young Pianists' Concert.
At the age of 9, Anthony was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and 5 months later he turned to playing the piano, which helped him heroically work through the dramatic changes he had to make. This experience has contributed tremendously to his passion in playing the piano. Anthony especially enjoys playing Classical Music and has rapidly gained recognition for his talent. In June 2010, he received a double standing-ovation at his first piano solo concert, where he shared his love for music and the composers of the pieces he presented, as well as stories about how music has changed his life.
