About Me:

At the age of 13, I started collecting edison cylinders & diamond discs, and also 78rpm shellac records, and the machines to play them on.I enjoy various styles of music, from classical and opera, all the way through to "some" modern genre's like rap, techno & dance.
So far, I've concerntrated on uploading recording made between about 1898- 1959, but sometime in the future, will also be adding some vinyl records from the 50's to the 70's or 80's.
Please feel free to rate or comment on any of the video's you see, as it gives me some idea of what you might be interested in hearing.
If you share an interest in this old time music, please subscribe, as I'm adding songs almost on a daily basis, and if you have the time, have a browse through the many hundreds of titles already uploaded.
If there's a song or artist you'd like to hear, just send me a PM with your requests, and if it's amoungst the 10,000 pre-vinyl records I have, I'll gladly upload them for you.
All the best, & thanks for watching!

Hobbies:
I collect antiques of every kind, with mechanical music machines and records as my main interest. Other fields I'm into include Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco furniture and bric-a-brac, and just about anything else you can think of! I'm also a big movie fan, and have a large collection of film, video and DVD's. I'm also interested in model railroading, although space and time don't permit me to spend much time on it these days.
Movies:
Too many to list, but silent movies, movie musicals, comedies and horror....
Music:
Again too many to list!
Books:
I'm not big on books, unless it's to do with antique restoration or phonographs.

Hi Gramaphoneshane,

Your uploaded Dinah Shore Video, "Nashville"apparently is defective in some way, because when I tried to open it with RealPlayer, just a blank screen appeared. The scroll bar is movable, but moving it makes no difference. Maybe it's just my computer, but in case others are experiencing a similar difficulty, you might consider re-uploading it.

Thanks for your interesting videos. I have now subscribed to your channel.

Thats great you found that out, I could find anything at all about it, and the date sounds right. I knew it was after 1907 when the Hayes plant was open, but pre 1927 when the Sydney pressing plant open (Thats how we date 78s in New Zealand. If its after 1946 (A record pressing plant opened in Petone) it will say made in New Zealand on the record, but slightly older ones will say Sydney, and truly old records will be from England. The Iffs record is the oldest I have ever seen, so I bought it for $3 in 1999, but unfortunately checking my storage unit, its smashed now (A shame it being 99 years old)
