Thanks for the film clip. Been trying to get that film for ages . Saw it a few years back.

An underated film which deserves a bigger place in local history.
Coming in the middle of the 20th century it shows the railway and many local people who are long since gone.

Although it was probably a standard setup for the time the opening scene which you have posted showing the train with the returned Yank chugging over the mountains might have been "borrowed" a few years later by John Ford for the Quiet Man.

Saints and Sinners does not compare with that classic but it certainly stands up to a later John Ford film The Rising of the Moon which did not have colour or indeed John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.

As it is I always feel that if one or two or the scenes in Saints and Sinners were in the Quiet Man they would be very highly rated.
