I too was slightly surprised at the apparent lack of backstop. I guessed it was a camera angle "you had to be there" thing but, didactic or not, there are some things I think you just have to say. Ask David Attenborough!

Isn't it interesting that all these films show people without balaclavas and using their real names, unashamed of doing their thing. Quite common among shooters of all types. Not really that cowardly, then. And actually, the vast majority of the British public couldn't care less.

Hi Brian. What RPM is that leather strop turning? I was told anything over 500 rpm would create too much heat, so I have been struggling to find anything slow enough. Yours seems faster but obviously does a great job. Is it the compound that keeps it cool or have I just been misinformed?
