???Firstly your right the driver should have looked, however you would have to be mad to take up the position you did, as the road markings showed that the 2 lanes were emerging back to one lane, so were exactly did you expect the corsa to go, it looks like you were about to undertake.

@renklauf Fair point but, I always advise my pupils to apply the handbrake, remember they are practicing for a TEST and examiners are looking for you to carry out the manouevre safely and under control, not quickly and expertly!.
