I first picked up a guitar at the age of 46 on Dec 27th 2008 and started learning to play. Since then every month I post a video to YouTube as a way of giving myself something to aim for, it also helps me see over time that I'm gradually improving.
I don't teach, I don't count my videos as covers, I just enjoy trying to play the guitar and the challenge of getting it as good as possible for YouTube each month.
For anyone else starting out, age isn't a barrier (it just takes a bit longer to learn), I was worried about having small hands (that doesn't matter), what does matter is loving music, a desire to play and practicing for an hour every day.
Also check out Justin Sandercoe - he was the guy who made me think I could give it a go and is a brilliant teacher. There are others on the web who I credit in my videos - without their tutorials and tabs I'd be sunk.
