Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
God, looking ahead in time, saw our entire life, our past, present, and even our future sins, which were all future when Christ paid for them.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth and took upon Himself the sins of the world, all of them, and died, paying the price for that sin. That sin was shed, sent away forever, as proof positive that God the Father was satisfied with the payment of Christ , His Son, Christ rose.
If even one sin ever commiedt was not paid for, then Christ could not have risen to accomplish justification for those who believe in the finished work of Calvary.
Christ traded your sin for His righteousness. You have, right now, been declared, when you believe, to have the very righteousness of Christ. God looks at what Christ did and He credits it to the account of the believing sinner. Totally apart from who we are or what we have done, what we try to do or promise to do, simply by what we believe.
God gave us the only thing we can do without doing anything, faith, believing. God does not consider faith a work.
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
When we believe that Christ took all our sins, thereby justifying the ungodly believer, our faith is counted for righteousness.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

The message of the gospel - 2 Corinthians 5:18 - 21. It's here Paul explains to us what happened to the sins that were placed upon our Savior, and the wonderful news that God is no longer imputing those sins unto the sinners.
The mechanics of the Gospel Romans 3: 20 - 28
Tell us how it is that Christ's death, burial, and resurrection can accomplish justification for a wrath-worthy individual.
What was the verdict? Guilty.
What was the penalty? Death.
Who took it? Jesus Christ.
How much of it? All of it.
How much did he leave for you? None of it...not imputing the world's sins unto them; "not imputing their trespasses unto them" (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Romans 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
