Fast SRV Picking And Bending gr8bluesgtr - 11,150 views - 1 year ago
This video shows you how to do that looping picking and bending lick that Stevie would use in songs like Tightrope, Tell Me and occasionally in slow blues songs like Texas Flood.

Blues Junior Demo Tone!! - Original Ballad gr8bluesgtr - 45,079 views - 1 year ago
http://www.steviesnacks.com
Another video showing off my favorite amp right now. Since most of my viewers are SRV fans, I'm playing a SRV style ballad to show off some of the thicker overdriven tones that this amp can get, similar to Stevie's soloing during Life Without You.

Visit http://www.steviesnacks.com to get settings for all equipment used in recording this demo. The Fender Blues Junior Tweed NOS is a fantastic amp, capable of producing some fantastic tones. I thought I'd show off the amp to one of my favorite songs ever.

The 5 Essential Blues Boxes For Guitar gr8bluesgtr - 110,714 views - 1 year ago
http://www.steviesnacks.com.

In this lesson I go over the 5 major blues boxes that I use for soloing in most blues music. This is not the same approach that most have been taught, it is my own approach that is designed to present a usable methodology to blues soloing. It's not designed to be compatible with anything else that's taught, because I didn't learn from anything except watching. Please keep this in mind when watching.

http://www.steviesnacks.com

This lesson is a continuation of the Lesson 25, and explains more about the 5 Essential blues boxes for guitar. Topics covered include:
-What does it mean to play in a certain key?
-How is this different than "Blues Scales"?
-How to extend the boxes at the top of the neck
-How to move the boxes to a new key.

The 20 minute version goes into more detail about each of these topics.

Box 1 - The Root Box gr8bluesgtr - 44,224 views - 1 year ago
http://www.steviesnacks.com

I've been teaching about what I call the 5 essential blues boxes. As promised, I now get into more detail about Box 1, which I consider the most important of them all.

In the free version of the lesson, I go over the structure of the box in detail, I also explain what some of the most important notes in this box can be used for, as well as some special "in-between" notes.

In the 20 minute version, which can be purchased in HD at the website, I also cover

*Transitioning from Box 1 (the Root Box ) to Box 2 (the Albert King box )
*The secret double life of Box 1. How you can play happy sounding riffs, right out of box 1 by using some "hidden" notes.
*Transitioning from Box 1, down to Box 5 (the Major Root box )

The full lesson is available in HD for $5.00 and has tons of more details in it.

If you're into that Texas Blues guitar style, I think you'll find my videos helpful. I spent many years thinking I would be the next Stevie Ray Vaughan (so original, I know), but eventually realized that that was a competition with no trophy. So instead, I decided to share what I've been blessed to learn with others through video lessons.

My main site is http://www.steviesnacks.com and you'll find higher quality lesson previews there as well as the extended version of many of these free lesson previews. These extended lessons can be purchased for a few dollars each, and better yet, they are offered in HD quality.

My lesson series are also available on DVD for those who aren't really computer oriented. http://www.steviesnacks.com/dv ds

I want to say thanks for the great lessons. Six months or a year ago I tried to follow along but I was getting lost (when I was first starting to play). After a TON of practice I can keep up I am getting great benefit out of them now. I love all of the little nuances that I am picking up from watching you and vids of SRV. Great stuff. I have got SRV's muted raking technique down now (thanks to your lesson) and I absolutely love it, it adds so much more girth to certain phrases and bends. Thanks again, dude.
