    Talking Heads The Overload (HQ)

From their 1980 album Remain in Light. Produced by Brian Eno.

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

@newfuckingwave Sounds rather like "The Eternal." Two amazing groups that reached their peak in 1980, practically in the middle of my favorite period for music (1977-1982.)

Scarface - Say Hello To My Little Friend

Tony Montana's famous quote from the film Scarface.

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

For such an iconic, memorable movie...it's actually really bad. And no, I don't mean just this scene. The whole movie actually is pretty poor. But this is a golden quote.

    Disturbingly Racist Cartoons

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

@Otustaja fair point. maybe i was reading too much in your comment. it's not that finding racist subtext will eliminate racism. but propagating racist cartoons without ever telling kids what they're watching can't help it either. these cartoons very clearly draw upon racial stereotypes, certainly...

    throbbing gristle - discipline

    real industrial, yo.

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

@rivet138 have you really listened to nine inch nails? it's clearly industrial rock. just cause it's not purely industrial doesn't mean it doesn't fall under that category.

    The Clash - Bankrobber [Single]

This is plain and simple, the audio of the Clash single, Bankrobber of the single Bankrobber.

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

@GetThisThingCrunk You're right. The Clash didn't feel the need to limit themselves to any particular genre. They communicated a clear attitude in the vast majority of their work, but stylistically they were all over the place. Listening to Sandinista or Combat Rock would easily prove that to any...

I heard Thom Yorke cited Buckley as an influence on his singing on "Fake Plastic Trees." I can definitely hear similarities in the music and vocals of this song and Bends-era Radiohead.

Be my baby - The Ronettes

    Cruisin' Oldies

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

it's easy to see why brian wilson listened to this song hundreds of time a day when it came out. Great as this music is, I don't know if it would be worth reliving the 60's solely for the music. However, now that I say that, this decade isn't so hot either, as of now at least.

    gpenn2 gpenn2 commented:

@Squibfire more like tom waits is screamin jay hawkins as a white guy. I was just about to listen to "Singapore" actually, but then I landed on this. Great artists, the two of them. RIP to Hawkins. I wonder what's going on with his 75 alleged children.

@iadoreyoumichaeljack why do you even care about justin bieber? if he's so untalented, he shouldn't mean anything to you. if you're pissed because people like him, how many of those people are saying nirvana is worse than bieber and how many of those people would ever listen to anything that was ...

Between "The Real Me", "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Boris the Spider", "My Generation" and "The Punk and the Godfather", something of his should have made it. Also, I don't think I saw anythin...
