Thanks for all the watchers and posters of my favourites, music tastes vary from person to person. Me personaly I have a great fondness for dance, northern soul, motown, stax and many more. In the early seventies I managed to get quite a few soul classics from the usa, not being cheap at the time !! always sold them at wigan casino, pips in manchester and of course the cats whiskers in nantwich.
I have seen many soul groups perform live and in rehearsal which always brings back fond memories of the days it did not cost you a weeks wages to see someone perform live. Early to mid sixties we always frequented the church on Dickenson road Manchester, this was where top of the pops started and was filmed by the bbc where the groups often played for the top of the pops countdown. In to the 21century now, we have youtube, a lot of great posts here and a wealth of video material to be had for free. Amazing stuff with a wealth of talented posters aiming to share their hard work. |

It's fabulous to read the feedback coming in. THANKS GUYS. It seems there are chaps out there who also adore soul after all - cool. Even though I've not actually physically met a soul 'guy friend' it's great to read see feedback coming in; I now know you fellas are out there somewhere, how about the odd photo? Still fascinated in what makes soul guys soul guys. Still, enough said. Sadly, it seems more often than not guys seem to think of soul/motown 'slushy, boring, wailing, or girly' -- sooo sad don't you think:-((
