10-year-old Teofimo who is known professionally as Gordo has been boxing since the age of 3. Gordo who was born in 1997 in Brooklyn, NY grew up watching his father in the boxing ring which created a natural desire for Gordo to move in the same direction. Undefeated and now the winner of the 2008 Junior Olympics (80 pound division,) Silver Glove (Florida) and Golden Glove (Florida) Gordo is on his way to becoming one of the futures boxing Champions of the world.
Gordo has a very unique style when he's in the ring, which is often mistaken for him being lackadaisical. He fights with his hands down and moves around the ring using a "slip move" looking as if he were dancing. Gordo currently trains 4 hours everyday, which includes; ring training, sprints, swimming and weight training. At the same time Gordo holds a grade point average of 3.7.
As of November 2007 Gordo has added another title to his future goals. Growing up admiring rappers such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and Tupac he has always wanted to become a rapper. After meeting Grammy award winning music producer Damien Earl Matthias a.k.a E-Love Gordo has begun working on becoming a rapper. Damien who is now managing Gordo states "This is not an overnight process, Gordo's skills are amazing for someone his age, but we still have a lot of work to do".
