About C.G. YouTube Channel
Sanibonani-ke, welcome to C.G.'s YouTube channel. I am a doctoral student in anthropology at Brandeis University with research interests and expertise in ritual, religious experiences, memory, and family dynamics. I conduct fieldwork in Swaziland and southern Africa broadly and speak siSwati, Zulu, and German. Here you will find salient media resources for my research interests, as well as some samples that reflect my personal interests in classical and contemporary music and other randomosity. A larger portion of this channel are video web-logs ("vlogs") and essays for the course ANTH159 Museum and Public Memory (spring 2009). Please also visit the website I have developed with my colleagues at the Boston University African Studies Center. It is a Zulu language and Nguni cultures educational resource of songs and lifeways of southeastern Africa, and features original field recordings and photos. Enjoy!
