I'm Nick Chertock, I'm a complete golf and exercise addict, and this is where I will document my progress from a 14 handicap to a 7 over a twenty month period starting April 16, 2009 and wrapping up on 12/31/10.

I've been playing golf since high school, which was about 15 years ago. I'm about at the same level as I was a few years into my golfing career, at which time I sufferred from the inevitable plateau.

I'll be using golf drills, stretches, exercises, instructional advice, and some great training aids to cut my handicap in half over a period of 20 months.

It is rare for a golfer who has been at the same handicap for over ten years to dramatically improve his skills, so I consider this to be a formidable challenge.
About Me:

I'm a mid handicap golfer looking to improve from a 14 to a 7 over a 20 month period beginning on 4/16/2009 and wrapping up at the end of 2010. I'll be using drills, swing analysis, online golf instruction, golf fitness, and training aids to improve, I look forward to any feedback as I progress.

The slide swing fault can be due to a couple of things, anatomically. One is weak gluts. . . butt muscles. The other is a limitation in the internal hip rotators, very common. Check out the article on hip rotation on my website at www.golfitcarolina.com. It has some exercises. Note how your right foot slides forward after contact. . . another sign of too much movement in the hips.

Thanks, Nick. I like the goal. If you're interested, upload your swing onto my group (Golfitcarolina) at www.swingacademy.com and I'll analyze it for you and give you some recommendations. Shoot me your e-mail at bob@golfitcarolina.com and I'll send you an invite. Once accepted, you can upload. From the analysis, since swing faults and muscle deficiencies are strongly correlated, I can make some recommendations for specific exercises to do. That S-posture, for example, is common in younger players and those with tight hip flexors. A strecthing routine can help alleviate the fault if the condition exists.

Nick, I thought you'd like to know. We got this in our email this morning...We're sending this because it relates to your quest. Good luck from the Golf Stretcher Team.

"Ive tested the GolfStretcher over the last four months and am very happy to report that I highly recommend it. IT Works! During the four months, Ive played numerous rounds with and without my pre-round GolfStretcher warm-up. It has been very clear that my scores are better when I properly warm-up with the GolfStretcher. In addition, using it post-round leaves me more flexible and has reduced post-game soreness. Use of the GolfStretcher to loosen up my back, knees, hips and shoulders prior to the first tee, has really elevated my game from the very first shot. In spite of two hip replacements, use of the GolfStretcher has me playing the best golf of my life.
