When I was 29 years old and anticipating the birth of my first child, I had an epiphany. I don't want to be presumptuous and say "mystical experience." But nothing was the same after this experience. I began writing incessantly about the game of golf. Unable to find a publisher willing to take a chance on me, I decided to publish myself on the World Wide Web. I first published to goldengolf.com in 1997. It has been an avocation ever since.I have now put up some videos on youtube to further explain my ideas. And yes ... I am proud to be a golf dork!

Future Video: Gazelle for Golf. I will release the actual video I sent to Tony Little in the summer of 2006. I was pitching Mr. Little on a way to use the Gazelle for improving the golf swing. Well it appears that he used my idea to come up with the "Rock n Roll Stepper." Although I'm sure he will deny it, he obviously "borrowed" from my idea to come up with this new million dollar brainstorm. I don't even care about the millions he made off my idea. I just want the credit.

I play golf and philosophize about golf. It is the greatest game ... period. I also enjoy painting. I like to throw Frisbee and darts. I appreciate the beauty of minimalism. I have a fascination with fractal geometry and its implications in chaos theory. I want to make a contribution to the perennial philosophy of golf.

I write about golf under the pen name Taylor Spalding; I paint under the name J. Oberget'; I network under my real name Jeff, the bartender. Some people know me as JJ.

I have loaded up a couple quasi-instructional videos for the Frisbee. I have enjoyed tossing the disc around since I was a young teenager. Thanks again to my sons Matt and Mike for helping me produce the Frisbee vids.

My goal in life is to find the artistic and aesthetic in all things and use my talents to inspire and help other people. Other goals include the freeing of myself from sentient distractions. Detaching myself from those who try to draw me into their drama. Ultimately we must all thrive in our own skin and walk the the solitary path toward a deeper understanding of all things ... not just golf.

I would like to travel and perhaps play a round of golf or two in some exotice places.

I would like establish a foundation directed toward promoting golf as the ultimate game of diplomacy and good will. Golf is a beacon of democracy. There would be no despots if everyone played this humbling game.

I want to be the best father I can be.

About six weeks after posting the Over the Barrel video, I came across a book titled, "The Seven Priciples of Golf" by Darin Gee. He shows a similar exercise. I was blown away! What a confirmation it was for me! I have posted a video review of the book.

This brings me to back to Darin Gee. This is a man I would like to meet someday. I felt a great sense of kinship with him after reading his book. It would be great to stop in Hawaii for a visit to his academy.

In the next video, I will use the Gazelle (the popular informercial exercise device) to demonstrate a key aspect of stance and balance. This video goes hand in hand with the "over the barrel" exercise.

UPDATE: I have decided to include the Gazelle video in an upcoming training CD. This CD will include instructions for the Golden Swing Thing TM and the Swingpointer TM. I am putting a package together for future Ebay product auctions. Check the goldengolf website for links.
