So the Buddha spent 40 years preaching to Maya (illusion) about the path of enlightenment? His words are truth indeed, but who is his audience when it is all just inside of his own imagination? I love how the commentators talk of Buddha's experience as if they knew how enlightenment feels like.

Check out the Islamic Golden age to see how a society progressed with religion. Many of the major technological advances required for the scientifc revolution to take place were discovered then. To say that religion impedes progress is simply delusional.
