Great educational video. It's about time someone showa a video like this. I am a ex lifeguard who worked in Riis Park and Jones Beach back in 1975 and 1976 and let me tell you. Getting caught in a rip current is no joke. I just got caught in one in LB in 2009.

Did you see when Nevin went to the boards how Awery did not run him . That's the respect that was given back then when we played in the 70's. Today's player would have run him hard and of course hit him very high., Because everyone has a helmet and visor on.

These guys just don't get it today.

When I went to USC back in the 70's I surferd the wedge. Those waves were like bombswhen you wiped out. Very hard waves to ride Because you pretty close to shore and they close up right on you.
