awesome! you can skip around... but I would recommend working through it in order. get as close as you can to the goal tempos. good luck, hope you enjoy it! -chris

yeah it doesnt make a difference. practicing to a metronome and drilling that from slow and steady and gradually increasing your speed will improve the "speed" aspect of your playing. thats not an opinion either. there is no other method to gaining speed efficiently that to play with a metronome. thats the only music time keeper on the planet! hope that helps and just keep at it, anything you learn with help you improve!
