@danthemanpatrick because the steering wheel on those cars has more electronics than most people could handle. It controls many of the functions of the car since there is no dash to put all the toggles and buttons.

The idea of a wing on a FWD drive car is wrong if you dont have the supporting splitter on the front because all you are doing is pushing on the back of the car at speed, which takes away from whatever traction you may have on the front wheels.
