My grandmother (she was like a grandma to me) passed away on 4/02/09. She was a wonderful person to me and i feel terrible, depressed, and horrified with her death. When I was little, and my parents had to work, I would walk 2 houses down (before i moved) and she would look after me. I've been walking there for as long as i can remember, until 3rd grade. She also looked after my second cousins, she was their grandmother so i just got used to calling her Aunt Betty or Grandma Betty, or just Grandma. me and my cousins made all kinda of things out of tape. So, for my birthday one year, my Uncle Bud (her husband) got me tape and a slinky. I still laugh about that. She would always hug us when we needed hugs, she would always help us when we needed help, and most of all she loved us all very very much. They had two dogs, a black poodle with curly hair named Yvonne and a giant dog named Ben. Ben, at the moment is Deaf. They also had a dog named Lucky who was a white dog, so i am told. I never got to see Lucky, because he died before i starting going there. My grandmother always loved Mary and died near her feast day. She always told us that we live in a circle of love when we were fighting. I'll never forget that. When i was in 3rd grade, my Uncle Bud had a stroke the morning after he took us to a play, and could not move half his body. He fought it for 3 years in the hospital, until he could finally come home. During this time, my visits to her home were rare, she was always with him in the hospital. about 2 or 3 weeks later (he had been eating through his nose because he couldn't swallow), he decided he hated living like this and decided to stop eating. He knew what was going to happen but he went on anyway. Six days later, he died. Until my grandmother's death, our visits were occasional but not often either. She was a very important person in my life and i hope to see her again some day. I bet right now she is with my Uncle, though. At least she is happy. I doubt i will ever meet another person like her.
