"Dark, epic, 21st century rock'n'roll, played with such desperate intent it rips this sweaty throng a brand new arsehole in 25 minutes flat" - Unpeeled Magazine Since their inception in 2002, Jane Air have stamped an authoritative foot on the London indie rock scene. First off, they made it to the final 5 of the first XFM unsigned talent competition. Not bad considering over a thousand bands entered the compeition and Jane Air had yet to play live at that point. The bands first proper gig was supporting Desmond Decker at a Scooter Festival in front of 600 skinheads. Nobody had told Jane Air about the skinheads, and clearly, nobody had told the skinheads about Jane Air. Luckily for the band, they won over the crowd and the skinheads let them live. Following a brief stint being managed by Duran Durans ex-manger, the next 12 months were spent hoofing it around all of Londons premiere music venues building a reputation as a live act to be reckoned with. Quickly becoming a headline act in their own right, Jane Air ended the year on a high with two very successful shows at The Camden Underworld and the 800 capacity Rocket Complex supporting the Complete Stone Roses. During their time together, Jane Air have written in excess of 50 songs and have recorded almost 30....most of which can be downloaded for free on their website - www.janeair.com - Because of their live reputation and constant gigging, the website has enjoyed 24,000 hits in two years and 2000 unique song downloads last year alone! 2006 sees the band record their first official EP, titled US:THEM and available worldwide later this year.
