A glimpse into the spiraling descent of an average college student as he delves into the perilous world of contraband firearms. His fall drags his home-town friends into a dangerous game of clues and retaliation. Friendship is tested at the price of ultimate sacrifice. Inspired by true events, this film uses many of the original locations from real life. Some of the alluded characters are still at large.

"Breaking Ice" was my first student film at Central. It was done during two quarters of regular class load, and cost a total of $435.00. Many of the guns shown are real, and many of the characters are based on real people. I friend of mine did indeed get shot while attending college (not at CWU). Elements of that, along with my personal experiences at Central, where influences on "Breaking Ice". It is long (51 min), so have some snacks and drinks ready.
