I am an Atheist-Hindu!! Yes folks, I am a truly proud Hindu, a staunch Hindu and a thoroughly devout Hindu. The only thing is that I'm devoted to the atheistic traditions of Hinduism, not it's theistic traditions. I MOSTLY subscribe to the HETERODOX (Vedas-rejecting) atheistic/anti-theistic school of thought of Hinduism known as the Chaarvaak or Lokaayat philosophy, although I am heavily impressed and influenced by the ORTHODOX (Vedas-accepting) atheistic Hindu school of Samkhya, the very first school of Hindu thought and definitely the very base of Hinduism. Also, the (pre-dominantly) atheistic Ajivika philosophy is also quite impressive. And, of course, all this in addition to the default tools of an atheist ; common sense and rationality.

Such is the beauty of the Hindu philosophy; every path taken in the pursuit of the self and/or the rest of the universe is a legitimate path in Hinduism!!

One doesn't even have to believe in the Supreme Being (God), any of the holy books or even worship idols or many gods and goddesses to be a Hindu.

Hinduism just isn't a theistic religion, as the common misconception goes; it is an all encompassing religion, under which ALL paths are legitimate, as ALL of them are subject to the one true, comprehensive and incorruptible law that permeates thru the whole Universe; the theory of Karma (Action) or Cause and Effect (to put it in concise form).

Hinduism is an all-encompassing and all-accepting philosophical system free from dogma; it can't be a religion, as RELIGION IS DOGMA! It is a philosophy that neither depends on the existence or non-existence of God or Gods. It is perfectly possible to be a good Hindu whether one's personal views incline toward monism, monotheism, polytheism, pantheism, agnosticism or even atheism or any other path or philosophy on the face of this Earth for that matter!!

I am also an ardent supporter of the THIRD WAY.

Communism is dead and Capitalism is dying. Even the die-hard pro-capitalism Western economists have started arguing that the global economic crisis is a crisis OF the system, rather than the crisis IN the system. Today the whole world is facing the question: What is a better alternative system of development?

I say it is the "THRID WAY"! Whether you agree or disagree (completely/partially) with me is another matter!!
