Classical-flamenco concert guitarist, guitar and string constructor, researcher, inventor of the ''mathematic model of the guitar'' presently a proffessor of the guitar at Attiko Odeio (conservatory) in Athens-Greece.
The air pedal guitar is an invention - construction of Yorgos Kertsopoulos, constructed in 1987. It operates on a pneumatic system, whereby the guitarist presses with his foot three pedals, just as it is done with the piano, and hollow levers as shown on the video "Farruca Kertsopoulos air pedal guitar", are applying different pressures on the sympathetic strings, as they are lifted up by needles through the air pressure applied to them. The guitarist has the opportunity to apply pedal expression dynamics to the interpretational requirements of the music played.The revival of the many forms of the guitar which have existed in its long history is achieved through the work of Y.Kertsopoulos by his invention - construction of special metalonylon, metalonymatic and high pitched nylon strings where all tunings from the -2 fret to the 12 fret can be achieved on the guitar. The timbre, the pitch and the color of the different epoques can be obtained for serving better the needs of the many different styles and epoques of the repertory
justifying also the aesthetic requirements of each chronological period of the instrument.
