Julie Harvey

Julie Harvey is an artist who works and lives in New York City. She is inspired by the vibrancy and movement of dance, specifically the expression of present-day gestures. The dancer's movements, costumes, setting, and music create an abstract environment that has influenced much of her work.  Ms. Harvey's paintings strive to illustrate the brilliance of the contemporary dancer in motion, the club culture and its freeness, while creating the sound and setting through a suspended pop-like backdrop.  Her vivid backgrounds create the "music."
