When Amsterdam-based DJ Gijs Tettero discovered dance beats at eleven years old, he immediately left his toys, skateboard and He-man accessories behind and focused on making music. Now, ten years later, Gijs (21) has established himself as one of those DJ's who like to entertain all sorts of crowds. He has been gigging like a madman in the Dutch club scene and conquered dance lovers with his optimistic, uplifting beats. His sound is called 'rock&'n rave' with some influence of minimal, breakbeat, techno, favela, rock & hip hop, whenever he feels like it. His crowd-pleasing DJ style has also been discovered by well-known Dutch club nights and organizations like Chemistry, Club Stalker and Escape. And, if Gijs isn't looking for music in record stores or in the far corners of the Internet, you might find him organise his own dance events, developing dance concepts, making designs and finding dance tracks you don't hear elsewhere (of course).
