I saw Star Wars at least eight times, Had the Packman pattern memorised. And I've seen the stuff they put inside Stretch Armstrong, yeah. Oh, I was Roger Staubach in my backyard, Had a shoebox full of baseball cards, And a couple of Evil Knievil scars on my right arm. Well, I was a kid when Elvis died. An' my momma cried:
Well, it was nineteen-seventy-something, In the world that I grew up in. Farah Fawcett hair-do days, Bell bottoms and eight-track tapes. Lookin' back now I can see me. Oh man, did I look cheesy. But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin': Oh, it was nineteen-seventy-something.
It was the dawning of a new decade, We got our first microwave, Dad broke down and finally shaved them old sideburns off. I took the stickers off a-my Rubik's cube. Watched MTV all afternoon. My first love was Daisy Duke in them cut-off jeans. Space shuttle fell out of the sky. And the whole world cried.
Well, it was nineteen-eighty-something, In the world that I grew up in. Skatin' rinks and black Trans-Ams. Big hair and parachute pants. An' lookin' back now I can see me. Oh man, did I look cheesy. I wouldn't trade those days for nothin': Oh, it was nineteen-eighty-something.
Now I got a mortgage and an SUV, But all this responsibility, Makes me wish sometimes:
It was nineteen-eighty-something, In the world that I grew up in. Skatin' rinks and black Trans-Ams. Big hair and parachute pants. An' lookin' back now I can see me. Oh man, did I look cheesy. I wouldn't trade those days for nothin': Oh, it was nineteen-eighty-something.
Nineteen-seventy-something. Oh, it was nineteen something.

Get the A Lonely Place For Dying Maxi-single at www.brentdanielsmusic.com.
About the music video:
Key Players: Brent Daniels (Recording Artist [Writer, Performer & Producer], Editor, Colorist) Justin Eugene Evans (Director, Producer, Cinematographer)
Project Summary: This is the eponymous music video for the song & micro-budget independent motion picture, A Lonely Place For Dying.
Project Background: Budget, gear and crew size make this music video unique. Brent Daniels & Justin Eugene Evans created this video with only $1,000.00, a three-person crew and no additional gear beyond the camera. The video was shot on location in Santa Fe, New Mexico while Justin was shooting the feature film of the same name. For four consecutive nights Justin would wrap shooting on the feature film, release the crew and complete the music video with Brent, two musician performers (Ginger Ravencroft/drums and Bern Locker/guitar) and a skeleton crew of three.
"The innovations in this video aren't about content...they're about execution" says Justin Evans. "We're working with minuscule budgets. Despite being bootstrapped outsiders, we wanted to prove we could do work with our scarce resources equal to what the establishment does. That's the innovation. 1 grand, three crew members, no gear and off-the-shelf Macs. That's what we had to make this video."
Post Production was performed by three people. Brent Daniels (editor, colorist), Daniel Lenz (editor) and Marc Leonard (visual effects). Marc Leonard's visual effects were created on a MacbookPro in After Effects and Photoshop. After a botched color grade by a professional, Brent Daniels decided to teach himself Color [Apple's color grading software] and complete the color grade himself.
