About this user

Stearns Matthews graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey in May, 2008 with a BM in Music Theater, under the tutelage of Dr. Christopher Arneson and Nova Thomas. He made his solo cabaret debut at Don't Tell Mama in July 2008, after which Stearns entered the MetroStar Talent Challenge, a cabaret competition produced by The Metropolitan Room. Despite the challenge of being the youngest contestant to advance beyond the preliminary round of over one hundred submissions, he placed as the first runner-up! Stearns' solo debut show, I Was Here, was nominated for a 2009 MAC Award for Best Male Debut. He has also collaborated on duo cabaret shows with Jeremiah Downes (2008) and Megan Candio (2009). Stearns is currently planning his next show, which will premiere at the Laurie Beechman theatre in early 2010.
