@BlueOnionCompany Amish can own computers. But not for simple entertainment. They can use them for business and essential functions. It's the same with cars. Just like with any religion, the various different groups have differnt rules.

@quboot What a terrible thing to say... lumping all Americans together as insensitive clods. I'll bet there are German folks who don't get German jokes. I know my American mother rarely understands the humor in my jokes. My Filipino wife doesn't either. I think I am hilarious in any language.

I was born in 69, so I grew up in the saem era as SerpentWorld. And all those things did go on, but as a young teen growing into a man, that was of littel importance. I didn't have a fear of world war, and I didn't really worry much about people starving in africa.
